Expanding Our Campus, Protecting Our Mission, Strengthening Our Future
Although Oakcrest is blessed with a beautiful 23-acre campus, there has always been one piece of our campus vision that remained incomplete. When we moved to Vienna in 2017, the 2.2 acres of land that lie within our campus adjacent to our soccer and lacrosse fields were not available for purchase, and the uncertainty about this property’s final use has continued to create a challenge for the school as we plan for the future.
That was, UNTIL NOW.
The owners of the property have finally made it available for sale and we want to do everything we can to ensure that it contributes to the expansion and strengthening of Oakcrest’s mission versus being purchased and used for a purpose that would be counter to those ends. Therefore, Oakcrest is planning to purchase the property for $1.2 million but we can’t achieve this goal without the full generosity and participation of our community.
Thankfully, due to the incredible generosity of an anonymous donor, we already have a leg up on purchasing the property. This donor is so excited to help Oakcrest secure the property and is willing to match, dollar for dollar, everything we can raise in the next 30 days up to $600,000! That’s right, if we can raise $600,000 in cash or securities to be paid by October 6, 2025, we will have the $1.2 million necessary to purchase the property and secure it for generations to come!
BUT THAT’S NOT ALL…
The donor is so motivated to help Oakcrest achieve this strategic goal that, if we are successful in raising this very ambitious amount of funding in such a short period of time, they have committed to make an additional $200,000 gift in support of Oakcrest’s strategic priorities. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and we are going to need your help if we want to achieve this very exciting goal!

We understand that this is a very ambitious goal but we also believe that with your prayers and your generous hearts we have a way to achieve this together. Many hands make for light work and many benefactors will make this effort achievable for many future Oakcrest students and families. Please prayerfully consider what you can do and make your most generous contribution by October 6. Together we can make this a reality!
Finally, and most importantly, the donor who is offering this amazing match also wishes to honor the memory of Oakcrest alumna and former faculty member Anna Diederich ‘17 through this campaign. When we reach our goal and purchase the adjacent property we will permanently honor Anna’s legacy by naming it The Anna Diederich Field until a permanent use is determined in the future. No matter what its future use (athletic field, lower school, additional academic space) we will recognize Anna’s legacy on this property. We are grateful to the donor for recognizing Anna’s example of living out the Oakcrest mission throughout her life and we will be asking for Anna’s intercession to help us achieve this ambitious goal.
