Congratulations to the JV Soccer team for their undefeated season!! 

 

Varsity Soccer is expected to make the State Tournament and play on Monday, May 13 at Home. Stay tuned for more details. 

 

 

Middle School Athletics

 

Middle School Soccer was named the VCAC Tournament Champions after their defeat over Trinity Christian on Friday, May 3. 

 

Middle School Softball over Flint Hill on May 6, and their last game will be on Tuesday, May 14 at 3:30 pm vs. Langley School at Home. 

Varsity Soccer is 7-2-2 after defeating Seton School, 2-0. The team is ranked #6 in VISAA Division 1. Next week they will play the VCAC tournament.

 

JV Soccer also defeated Seton School, 1-0

 

Varsity Lacrosse defeated Bishop McNamara 10-7. 

Middle School Soccer beat Seton School in the semi-finals in a PK shootout. They will play in the Championship Friday, May 3 at Oakcrest, 3:30 pm, against Trinity Christian School. 

JV Soccer remains undefeated with a 2-1 win over JPII in the last minute of play with a head ball from Amelia W '26 off a corner kick.

Middle School Soccer and Softball over Fredericksburg Christian School. 

 

Varsity Swim & Dive had 12 athletes compete at the VISAA State Championship this past weekend in Christiansburg (Virginia Tech). The team placed 6th in the state (only 31 schools even scored and we finished ahead of every large private school in Northern Virginia!!). This is our best team finish EVER and we had many great swims:

Elizabeth B '26 is the State Champion in the 200 yard Individual Medley and the 100 yard Breaststroke!

Elliott R '28 finished 9th in the 100 yard butterfly and 6th in the 100 yard backstroke!

Norah K '24 finished 5th in diving with a new school record total points 307.25

Mary A '27 finished 7th in diving!

The 200 Medley Relay team of Elliott R '28, Elizabeth B '26, Mae Mae M '27 and Katelyn E '26 finished 9th.

The 400 Freestyle Relay team of Mae Mae M '27, Emaline C '28, Elliott R '28 and Elizabeth B '26 finished 10th.

Varsity Indoor Track & Field had 2 athletes compete at the VISAA State Championship this past weekend in Richmond.  Rose S '27 ran her best time in the 500m and Claudia M '24 ran in the 55m.  

 

 

Middle School will host the semifinals on Wednesday 2/21 at 4:00pm. Wear your green and white, grab pom-poms from Coach Sweatman and come cheer us on!

If they win, Middle School will host the VCAC Championship on Friday 2/23, at 4:00pm

 

 

Middle School Athletics

On January 27, our swimmers and divers in grades 6-9 competed in the VISAA JV Invitational Championship and won for the third year in a row. 

Mary A. '27 won the dive event with a personal best score of 170.90. 

Chargers won six of 11 events.

Elliott R. '28 set both meet records and middle school team recoreds in the 50 free (25.77) and 50 back (28.30). She also finished second with a team record in the 50 fly (27.28) and anchored the first place 200 free relay, out touching FCS to earn Swimmer of the Meet recognition. 

 

Senior Swim Meet will take place on Tuesday, February 6 at Madeira School at 4:30 pm.  Come cheer on our seniors-- Lulu G, Norah K, and Kathryn S. 

 

JV Basketball has two wins this week defeating Foxcroft School and Trinity Christian School.  In the nailbiter against Trinity Christian, Amanda R. '26 hit 2 free throws with seconds left to secure the victory.

 

Varsity Basketball is now 3-2 in the VCAC after a close loss to Trinity Christian School on Wednesday.

Swim and Dive scored 79 points finishing in 12th place at the National Catholic High School Championship.

In diving, Norah K '24 finished in 7th place and Mary A '27 in 10th place.

Varsity Athletics: 

11 swimmers and 5 divers will compete at National Catholic High School Swim & Dive Championship this weekend at Loyola University- Maryland.

 

Varsity Basketball started the new year with two conference wins defeating Immanuel Christian 52-12 and Fredericksburg Christian 46-38. 

Middle School Athletics

Middle School Basketball beat Fredericksburg Christian 35-8.

 

Varsity Cross Country finished 4th at VCAC Championship Meet. Congratulations to Catherine D. who finished 10th overall and earned Second Team All Conference recognition.  Full results are attached.

 

Varsity Tennis defeated Seton 5-2 to claim the VCAC Tournament Title! Coach Amanda was named Coach of the Year and 5 players earned all conference recognition.

JV Field Hockey defeated St. John Paul the Great, 1-0, and tied Fredericksburg Christian to improve their record to 3-5-1!  Thank you to our seniors -- Lulu C, Amelia C and Catherine E!

 

JV Volleyball defeated Immanuel Christian 2-0.

 

Varsity Volleyball lost to Fredericksburg Christian and defeated Immanuel Christian 3-1. Congratulations to our seniors Elaine E, Lulu G, Norah K, and Caroline M.

 

Varsity Tennis defeated St. John Paul the Great 9-0 to clinch the VCAC Regular Season title!  They will host the semi-finals on Wednesday 11/1 at 3:30 pm at Upper Lakes.  Thank you to our seniors-- Ellie B and Neilly M!  Way to go Chargers!  

Upper School Athletics

JV Field Hockey defeated Brookewood in an overtime shootout, 1-0.  Catherine E. '24, Ysens M. '28 and Amelia C. '24 scored during the 1 v. 1 shootouts to secure the win. Ana Marie D. '27 played in goal during the second half and held Brookewood to 1 goal during the shootout.

Middle School Athletics 

 

Middle School Volleyball beat Fredericksburg Christian School, St. Stephens St. Agnes, and Trinity Christian School, giving them a record of 8-2. 

 

6/7th Grade Volleyball over St. Ann’s.

 

Middle School Cross Country placed third in the 5k meet. Ella D. ’29 placed second, Evie D. ’30 placed 5th, Jane D. ’29 placed 13th, Emma S. ’28 placed 16th, and Maddie L. ’29 32nd.

 

Middle School Tennis over Bullis on October 11 and over St. Stephens St. Agnes on October 19. 

 

JV Volleyball defeated Covenant Life School (2-1) and lost to Seton School (0-2).

Varsity Volleyball fell to Covenant Life School (0-3) to Seton School (0-3).

 

Varsity Cross Country finished fourth at VCAC Mid-Season Challenge.  Catherine D. '24 and Maude P. '25 led the way for the Chargers finishing in the top 15.  Full results are attached.

Middle School Athletics

Middle School volleyball beat Trinity Christian School and lost to Covenant Life and Seton giving them a record of 5-2. 6/7th grade volleyball fell to Congressional. 

Middle School Cross Country team placed 2nd in the Covenant Life Invitational.

 

Varsity Volleyball defeated Brookewood, 3-0, to improve their record to 2-5.

Upper School Athletics:

 

JV and Varsity Volleyball defeated King Abdullah during the homecoming matches on 9/15. JV won 2-1 and Varsity won 3-2. 

 

Varsity Cross Country finished 3rd at the first VCAC Meet of the season on 9/19 at Leesylvania Park. 

 

JV Field Hockey fell to Covenant School, 1-4, in their first game of the season.  Ysens M. ’28 scored the first goal in Oakcrest field hockey history!

 

Varsity Tennis is 2-1 in the VCAC defeating Immanuel Christian School and Trinity Christian School, 5-4. They lost a close match 4-5 to rival Seton School.

 

Middle School Athletics: 

 

Middle School Cross Country came in first place at the Bullis Invitational Meet on 9/20. Ella D. ’29 finished 1st out of 78 runners, Evie D. ’30 placed 5th, and Jane D. ’29 in 10th. 

 

 

Varsity Lacrosse defeated Trinity Christian School, 11-6, in the VCAC Semi-final game to advance to the Championship game against St. John Paul the Great High School. 

In a tough Championship game, the Chargers lost to John Paul the Great to finish their season as Runner-up in the VCAC Girls Lacrosse Tournament.  Elizabeth L. led the offense with 4 goals and 5 draw controls and Maddie M. led the defense with 2 interceptions.

 

Varsity Soccer defeated Fredericksburg Christian School 3-1 in overtime to advance to the Semi-final game against Trinity Christian.  In a hard fought game against the undefeated #1 seed, the Chargers lost 1-5. Trinity Christian team has only been scored on 6 times all season. Goal was scored by Claudia M, assisted by Rose S.

 

Varsity Softball picked up their first win of the season against Trinity Christian School, 4-1.  This earned them a trip to face Fredericksburg Christian in the Semi-Final of the VCAC Tournament.  The Chargers lost to the Eagles in the semi final.

Middle School Soccer - Green won 8-0 against King Abdullah Academy.

Varsity Golf - Amelia C. '24 was named VCAC MVP on May 4 at the Conference Championship. She scored a 38, lowest out of all the four schools competing at Fredericksburg Country Club. Amelia was also awarded 1st Team All Conference. Middle School Athletics

Varsity Soccer defeated Fredericksburg Christian 4-0 and lost to Trinity Christian School.  They are currently ranked 13th in Division One of the VISAA. 

 

Varsity Lacrosse is tied for first in the VCAC!  There are two games left before the VCAC tournament.

Middle School Softball defeated St. Stephen's & St. Agnes School, 10-1.  Eva M. '29 hit a homerun and struck out 5.  Zoe P. '29 also pitched, striking out 3.

Varsity Athletics

Varsity Lacrosse defeated Trinity Christian School, 15-7.  Elizabeth L. '23 and Maddie M. '26 led the Chargers offense with 5 goals each.  The lacrosse record is now 2-0.

 

Varsity Soccer defeated King Abdullah Academy, 10-1.  Eight different Chargers scored goals in a dominant performance.  Varsity's record is now 1-1-1. 

Varsity Lacrosse defeated Jackson Reed High School, 14-4, in their first game of the season.  Goalie Elaine E had 11 saves and senior Teddie Y led the offense with 5 goals.

 

Varsity Soccer lost their first VCAC game of the season, 1-6 to St. John Paul the Great High School.  Junior Ellie B scored for the Chargers.

 

Varsity Track & Field competed in a tri-meet with O'Connelle and Bishop Ireton.  Full results are attached. Oakcrest won several events:

What a great Winter season!  Congratulations to all our athletes, in particular to our winter team award recipients:

 

 

In the first year as a team, rock climbing competed against Foxcroft in an exhibition match. Oakcrest won 249-126. Charlotte O and Katie K tied for first place in the tournament. Both scored 42 points with a top rope rating of 5.12, one bouldering rating of V5+, and a second bouldering rating of V5+. Anne G, Tyler Reese H, and Josephine L were all tied for third place in the tournament with a total of 29 points. Anne G: top rope: 5.11, boulder one: V5+, boulder two: V1+, Tyler Reese H: top rope: 5.10, boulder one: V5+, boulder two: V3+, and Josephine L:  top rope: 5.10, boulder one: V5+, boulder two: V3+

 

Varsity Basketball finished the regular season defeating Calvary Temple, 35-22. They finished in 3rd in the VCAC with an 18-7 record.  

Middle School Swim defeated St. Stephen's & St. Agnes School and Alexandria Country Day School in their last meet of the season. Oakcrest won the 200 Medley Relay, the 200 Free Relay, 50 Free, 50 breast and 100 Free events to secure the victory

The Varsity team we went 2-2 at the VCAC Invitational— defeating Fredericksburg Christian and St. John Paul the Great while losing to Trinity Christian and Seton.  Our divers started the day strong going 1-2-3: Meghan K, Norah K and Patricia R! Elizabeth B. continued her fast swimming, breaking the school record in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:08.32! Full results here.

JV Basketball defeated King Abdullah 44-13.

Middle School Basketball won over Covenant Life School 34-32 on January 12. 

Spring Sports begin March 6!  We are hiring coaches for all spring sports! If you know someone who would be a great coach for our Chargers, please reach out to the Athletic Directors.

Middle School Athletics 

Basketball defeated Seton, 40-28. They will play Fairfax Homeschool Wednesday evening. 

This invitational is scored as multiple dual meets, which means it was like swimming 5 separate meets at one time.  We went 3-2 for the afternoon; defeating Immanuel Christian, Carmel School and Fresta Valley Christian.  Full results are here.  

 

1- For the first time ever, we competed in the diving event!  Norah K. won the diving with a score of 158.10 and Meghan K. came in 2nd with a score of 138.35.  Big points for us!  

2- Elizabeth B. not only won the 200 IM and 500 Free events but set new team records in both events.  Both records were from 2010.  Her new record times were:  2:09.51 in the 200 yard IM and 5:19.76 in the 500 yard Freestyle!  These times have qualified her in both events for the VISAA State Meet and National Catholics. Wow!  Great job Elizabeth!

3- The 400 Free Relay team swam a qualifying time for both VISAA States and National Catholics.

 

 

Varsity Basketball currently has a 2-2 record after finishing. 3rd in the 18th Annual Flint Hill Tip-off Tournament.  They defeated King Abdullah Academy, lost to Episcopal High Schoo, and defeated Trinity at Meadow View. Freshman Kate N. was named to the All-Tournament Team and Senior Liz L. was named to the All-Academic Tournament team.  In the first VCAC conference game of the season, Varsity lost to Seton School.  They compete in the Madeira "MAD Hoops" Tournament on 12/9 at 4:30 pm.

 

JV Basketball is 1-1 in the season after losing to Seton School.  They travel to Calvary Temple on Monday 12/12.

6th Grade Volleyball ended their season with a win over Congressional School, 2-0!

Middle School Volleyball defeated St. Andrew's Episcopal School 2-0 to finish their season with a 7-3 record.

Special Highlights:

All Winter Athletes are expected to attend a mandatory team meeting on Monday November 7.  Athletes will be cleared by the trainer, meet with their coaches to learn about try-outs and participate in a conditioning session.  Please dress in athletic attire for the meeting. Detailed information about each winter sports-- basketball, indoor track and field, rock climbing, strength and conditioning and swimming-- can be found on the athletic widget on OC.

Varsity Tennis is the #2 seed for our first VCAC Tournament!  We will be hosting St. John Paul the Great on Tuesday 11/1, 3:30 pm at Upper Lakes.  We would love lots of fans!  If we win, we play in the Championship on Friday, November 4.

 

Varsity Volleyball will travel to St. John Paul the Great for the opening round of the VCAC Tournament on Tuesday 11/1. 

Two of our middle school students ran at the Virginia Middle School 4K Cross Country Championship for their club team Elite XC on Sunday, October 24.  Emilia N. '28 placed 8th overall with a time of 15:19.8 and Ella D. '29 placed 21st with a time of 15:55.3.

Cross Country won their second tri-meet of the season defeating St. Andrew's Episcopal School and Potomac School.  Ella D. finished first with a time of 15:15 and Cecilia A. finished second with a time of 15:23. Full results are attached here.

 

6th Grade Volleyball won their first game against Providence Academy, 2-0.  Their next game is on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at St. Andrew's Episcopal School.

Varsity Volleyball had a tough loss to Virginia Academy.  They will host Fredericksburg Christian on Thursday, October 20 in an important conference match up.  JV and Varsity Volleyball will travel to Trinity Christian School on Friday, October 21 for games at 5:30pm and 7:00pm.  

 

Varsity Tennis is currently ranked second in the VCAC with two weeks left before the tournament.  Tennis will travel to Trinity Christian on Thursday October 20.

Middle School Cross Country finished first at their tri-meet against Potomac School and Stone Ridge School.  Sixth grader Ella D. led the Chargers finishing in second with a time of 14:58.  Cecelia A., Rose S., Elise F., Hayden A., Jane D. and Kathryn H. also finished in the top 10 in the race to secure the win.  Full results are available on the team page on Oakcrest Connect and here.

Middle School Tennis wins first match in school history! In our first season of middle school tennis, the team defeated St. Stephen's & St. Agnes School 5-3 in their first game.  Coached by Ms. Bigliano and Mrs. Hamblet, all four single courts and the #2 doubles court won.
