Our Mission
Faith
At Oakcrest, faith is not simply a subject to be studied—it is a relationship to be lived.

Prayer
Moments woven through the school day for students to pause, listen, and speak honestly with God.
Through daily opportunities for prayer, Mass, and the sacraments, students are invited to encounter Christ and discover the joy of deep and personal friendship with God.
Passionately Loving the World
Opus Dei
The spiritual guidance and doctrinal instruction offered at Oakcrest are entrusted to Opus Dei, a personal prelature of the Catholic Church. At the core of Opus Dei’s mission is the teaching that all men and women are called to holiness, which can be pursued through our everyday lives and work.
Grounded in the Catholic faith and inspired by the spirituality of Opus Dei, Oakcrest helps students integrate faith into every aspect of life while respecting the freedom and dignity of every person.

Understand this well: there is something holy, something divine, hidden in the most ordinary situations, and it is up to each one of you to discover it.
— St. Josemaría Escrivá
Key elements of the spirit of Opus Dei and how they shape the education and culture of Oakcrest:
Divine Filiation
The spirituality of Opus Dei is rooted in a deep awareness of being a beloved child of God. This awareness inspires a deep, personal, and loving dialogue with God, an unshakeable confidence in our own dignity and self-worth, and a profound respect for the dignity of each human being.

Oakcrest seeks to educate each student as a whole person and a unique daughter of God, loved by Him personally and individually. Students are often invited to reflect on this reality. Teachers and mentors strive to know each student, helping them develop their gifts, grow in confidence, and recognize the unique purpose God has for their lives.
Tap to returnSanctifying Work and Ordinary Life
Opus Dei affirms the universal call to holiness, teaching that holiness is found in the ordinary circumstances of daily life. Study, work, family life, friendships, and service are opportunities to love God and serve others when carried out with generosity and striving to do things to the best of one’s ability.

At Oakcrest, each student is reminded that she is called to be a saint, and she can strive for holiness by sanctifying her ordinary life. Students are encouraged to see their studies, activities, friendships, and responsibilities as opportunities for growth in love of God. Thus, excellence is pursued not for achievement, but as a way of serving the world around them and thereby glorifying God with their talents.
Tap to returnPlan of Life
To sustain a close friendship with God, Opus Dei encourages a plan for one’s daily practices of piety, including regular prayer, reception of the sacraments, spiritual reading, and moments of reflection throughout the day. These practices help individuals encounter God and make Him present in daily life.

Oakcrest students are provided with many opportunities for cultivating a life of prayer if they so choose, according to each one’s needs and circumstances. Each day, there are times for receiving the sacraments, prayer, and moments of encounter with God, whether that be attending Holy Mass during the daily Enrichment period, signing up for monthly adoration, or simply passing through the chapel on the way to class. Building these habits from a young age, they lay the groundwork for a strong spiritual foundation for their entire lives.
Tap to returnUnity of Life
Saint Josemaría taught that Christians should not live divided lives, separating faith from work, family, friendships, or other pursuits. Rather, every aspect of life is meant to be united to and transformed by one’s relationship with God.

Oakcrest embraces a holistic approach to education that seeks to educate the whole person, in keeping with St. Josemaria’s emphasis on “unity of life.” Faith is not confined to theology class but informs all aspects of the culture of the school. It is present in every subject and class, student life activities and traditions, in sports and on the playing field, in the hallways and the care of the campus itself. Students are encouraged in authenticity and the understanding that their identity as daughters of God permeates all areas of their life.
Tap to returnLove for Freedom
The teachings of Opus Dei are lived with a deep appreciation of personal freedom. True freedom is not merely the absence of constraints, but rather the ability to seek truth, choose the good, and respond generously to God’s call. This freedom requires a genuine desire to enter more deeply into the Truth about God, the world and oneself. In love for the truth, each person is liberated and is able to pursue their path to holiness and happiness.

Students at Oakcrest are protagonists in their own education. Through mentoring, leadership opportunities, and personal guidance, each young woman is empowered to discover her gifts, discern her unique mission in life, and pursue it freely and confidently. She is invited to encounter God and grow in faith and friendship freely.
Tap to returnCharity, Service, and Apostolate
The spirit of Opus Dei, like all charisms in the Catholic Church, is apostolic. It seeks to awaken people to the call to share their love for Jesus Christ with others and spread his message of hope for all men and women. This outpouring begins in the home and the family and necessarily extends to the poor and suffering of society. This spirit of service is a direct consequence of charity, that is, love of God above all things and of one’s neighbor.

Service is an essential part of the Oakcrest experience. Students fulfill service hours, undertake service initiatives, participate in school-wide service days, and fundraise for annual student charity. Students learn that leadership begins with generosity and that they have a unique responsibility to contribute to the flourishing of others as “Trustees of Humanity.”

The Oakcrest Chapel
The Oakcrest Chapel, where our Lord is continually present in the Eucharist, stands at the physical center of the school, reflecting its role as the spiritual heart of campus life.
Throughout the day, students pass through its doors to greet our Lord in the tabernacle, pray, and place the joys and challenges of daily life before Him. Each day, students are invited to participate in Holy Mass and encounter Christ in the Eucharist, cultivating a friendship with God that sustains every aspect of their education and formation.

Holy Mass is celebrated every day in the Oakcrest Chapel and is open to the whole community.
