On May 7 our Head of School, Mary Ortiz, sent the community a message describing the fiscal challenges we faced and asking to help Oakcrest "Weather the Storm" financially and raise $325,000 by June 30.

Generosity has always been a virtue that has defined Oakcrest and our community has risen to the occasion. Whether through individual donations or participating in our first ever Virtual Gala and Auction we are
thrilled to share that we have exceeded our goal!  Thank you for your generosity and support that allowed us to achieve this extremely difficult task.

Because of your support Oakcrest has been able to respond to challenges during the current academic year and provide faculty and families the financial support they have needed to finish well. It also puts Oakcrest in a stronger position to begin the upcoming academic year.  We are grateful for everything you do to ensure that Oakcrest remains the top all-girls independent school in the region.

The recent U.S. Stimulus includes some new benefits for donors that make charitable gifts during this unique time:
1. Individuals can now claim up to $300 in cash gifts made to charities this year as a deduction from their gross income if they take the standard deduction on their 2020 tax return, which can reduce their amount of taxable income.
2.  For those who itemize, the law lifts the cap on annual giving from 60% of adjusted gross income to 100%.
3.  For corporate charitable giving, the law raises the annual limit from 10% to 25% of taxable income.
