Welcome from the Executive Director

Welcome to Oakcrest!

We are an independent school for girls being educated into women who will change the world from within. Women play an essential role in society; we bring life to others. That life might come in the form of biological self-gift and raising another generation, care for a friend or an aging family member, in profound sacrificial service to a marginalized community, the steady work of running programs that build connections amongst people, or leadership of organizations that give jobs and impact through their mission. Over the course of a woman’s lifetime, she will be called to a multiplicity of vocations of self-gift, and no woman’s journey is just like another. All these possibilities of a woman’s vocation are necessary to the thriving of our society. Women are complex, generous, relational, contemplative, courageous, and sacrificial in ways that are often misunderstood. Oakcrest is a community where we audaciously allow girls to be themselves, to discover their talents, to train them in Truth, and to offer their gifts back to building up our culture.

Oakcrest’s recipe for success starts with parent partnership, embracing parents as the primary educators of their daughters. We offer parent partnership programming that comes in the form of presentations on timely topics, socials, and communication from mentors and teachers. The second ingredient is our all-female faculty, who are first and foremost mentors and role models; we create a community of women who model the integration of professional excellence, faith, family life, service, and leadership. For our students, this offers not only exceptional teaching but also countless lived examples of what a flourishing womanhood can look like. We offer the curriculum and its delivery in a way that girls thrive academically and social-emotionally - from discussion groups to creating beauty in our arts classes to oral presentations to the rich texts they read to science experiments to an extensive field trip program. Our girls are pursuing excellence so that they can recognize and articulate truth and to be servant leaders throughout their lives. We offer a balance of core curricular experiences with electives and co-curricular activities that allow our students to find their talents, to flourish in developing them, and to learn to celebrate the gifts in their classmates.

The crowning glory of our education is freedom and responsibility. When you come to Oakcrest, you will feel the genuine happiness and joy that our girls exude. It is a joy and an honor to welcome you to Oakcrest and to serve this extraordinary community as School Director. Oakcrest is a place of deep purpose and great joy, where young women are known, challenged, and inspired to grow in wisdom, confidence, and faith. At the heart of Oakcrest is a clear and compelling mission: to educate the whole person: intellect, will, and heart. We believe that a girl’s education should do more than prepare her for academic success; it should help her discover who she is, cultivate her gifts, and form her to live with conviction, generosity, and a sense of purpose.

This vision shapes every aspect of school life. In our classrooms, students engage a rich liberal arts curriculum that invites them to think deeply, ask meaningful questions, and pursue what is true, good, and beautiful. They are guided by exceptional faculty who combine intellectual excellence with a profound commitment to the personal formation of each student. Through close mentoring relationships, a joyful school culture, and opportunities in athletics, leadership, and extracurricular life, Oakcrest students are encouraged to grow not only as scholars, but as young women of character and faith.

As School Director, I have the privilege of overseeing the academic and student life of the school, including faculty and curriculum, mentoring, athletics, and extracurricular programs. These dimensions of school life are deeply interconnected, and together they reflect Oakcrest’s commitment to forming young women who are prepared to bring their gifts generously to the world.

Our hope is that Oakcrest students come to recognize that they are made for more: more truth, more goodness, more beauty, more love, and more service than the world often asks of them. In a culture that can be noisy and distracting, we want Oakcrest to be a place where girls learn to listen carefully, reflect deeply, and discern wisely. We want them to discover the confidence that comes from knowing they are beloved daughters of God, entrusted with unique gifts, and called to use those gifts generously in the service of others.
