Upper School Science Teacher
Oakcrest School, an independent school for girls in grades 6-12 guided by the teachings of the Catholic Church, located in Vienna, Virginia, seeks an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher committed to and supportive of the mission of Oakcrest and the spirituality of Opus Dei to join our Science Department.
The Science Department understands that science is grounded in the experience of wonder at the world around us, and seeks to instill in the student the art of questioning, the principles of observation, and the precision of thought.

Applicants should possess:

Minimum of three years experience teaching science within a range of grade levels (6-12);

Bachelor’s degree required in chemistry, biology, or physics; Master’s degree in one of those sciences or a related field preferred;

Exhibit a passion for teaching science;

Excellent communication skills and an understanding of the developmental needs of adolescents, especially those of adolescent girls;

Strong educational background in the liberal arts; and
-
Interest in mentoring students.
