Ticket Sales Open for "Sing Down the Moon: Appalachian Wonder Tales"

Oakcrest School is pleased to open ticket sales for its Middle School Theatre production of Sing Down the Moon: Appalachian Wonder Tales. Performances will take place on Friday, February 23 and Saturday, February 24 at 7:00 pm at Ernst Theater in 8333 Little River Turnpike, Annandale, VA 22033. Purchase tickets here

The musical leads the audience on a journey through the Appalachian Mountains with six traditional tales and folk-inspired songs. With stories inspired by beloved fairy tales, the evening is sure to be captivating while sharing mountain-lore wisdom for the whole family. 

“This show is a collection of well-known fairy tale stories with a little Appalachian twist to everything,” Director Mrs. Kayleen Baldwin shared. “The music is in a bluegrass, folk style and the stories are interwoven in a heartwarming, fun, and wholesome way.” 

Alongside Mrs. Kayleen Baldwin, Oakcrest visual arts teacher, the show will feature music directed by Sarah Wilcox, music teacher, as well as the support of Elisa Torres, visual arts teacher, in tech, alongside Dr. Kat Hussmann, science teacher, with choreography. Sing Down the Moon: Appalachian Wonder Tales will include performances from more than 25 students, as well as a crew of Upper School students working behind the scenes. View the cast list here

“There is a lot of energy with the cast and crew of this show… things are going very well and everyone is getting really into their characters,” Mrs. Baldwin said.
