Oakcrest Senior named Commended Student by National Merit Scholarship Program

Oakcrest School is pleased to announce senior Aria U. has been named a Commended Student in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program. Commended Students are placed among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2024 competition by taking the 2022 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

“Those being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success,” a spokesperson for the National Merit Scholarship Corporation said. “These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation.”

Oakcrest School provides a rich liberal arts education to its students, woven together with one-on-one mentoring, character development, and a commitment to service. An Oakcrest education creates a vibrant environment that graduates confident women who make a difference in all they choose to do.

“The education Oakcrest offers is truly person centered,” Associate Head of School Cynthia Bertolini said. “Our Liberal Arts curriculum, in all of its breadth and in all of its depth, prepares our students to continue their pursuit of excellence in college and beyond.”

Aria will graduate alongside her 37 classmates as the Class of 2024 this coming June.

“Celebrating our students' successes is one of the most rewarding aspects of being an educator,” Interim Head of School Christie Keuchel said. “I am honored to be a part of their journey and I look forward to seeing what great opportunities await Aria and all of our students who work so hard and know how to find joy in doing their work well.”
