Strong Start to Season against Tough Opponent

This game was a fantastic game to start our season. Highland is our toughest opponent of the season and the team played so well. Our plan today was to limit this team to under 20 goals and to have a lower goal differential than in any recent history, and we met both of those goals! We lost 15-3 (and with masks on the whole time!). We had some great scoring opportunities and will continue to look to capitalize on those. Our amazing goalie, captain Ellen Stark, led our mostly rookie defense with 11 glorious saves in cage against a high scoring attack. Captain Ashley Schroeder was dominant at midfield, controlling several draws, causing multiple turnovers and interceptions, and scoring one of our goals. Teddie Yeagley & Addie Duncan each added a goal, with many other attackers having great looks to cage. We had 5 players play their first lacrosse game EVER today and they came in fighting! We had even more players try positions they hadn’t played before. This team is so coachable and I am so confident in our skills going into the next week. Let’s go Chargers!
