April 30: Varsity Track & Field

The track team traveled to St. John Paul the Great for a tri-meet that also included St. Gertrude. Chargers finished first in eight of the fourteen events, scoring 69 points to best both St. John Paul (45 points) and St. Gertrude (33 points). 

Eighth grader Vivian K. broke Oakcrest's oldest track record in the 3200 meter run. Her time of 12:15.79 on Wednesday bested the record set in 2005. Eight Chargers have qualified so far to compete in the VISAA State Meet with several others close to qualifying marks. Their next meet is at O'Connell on Monday, May 3.
