Basketball Coaches
An independent school for girls in grades 6-12, guided by the teachings of the Catholic Church and the spirituality of Opus Dei, Oakcrest School was founded in 1976 and is located in Vienna, Virginia, 17 miles west of Washington, D.C. Oakcrest students come from all over the DMV, and our students and families as well as our faculty and staff are noted for their deep commitment to the school’s mission.
Oakcrest seeks Basketball Coaches for all program levels—Varsity, JV, and Middle School from November 4, 2025- February 24, 2026. In particular, we seek assistant coaches for the Varsity team as well as coaches for the JV and middle school teams. The coaches will work together to run practices after school, between 3:15-6:00 pm. Game days may require a greater time commitment.
Specific Responsibilities:

Responsible for all aspects of the varsity team, including both organizing and supervising games and practices as well as uniform and equipment management

Assess players’ skills, monitor players during competition and practice and provide guidance for players to improve

Instill the values of respect, team spirit, teamwork, and dedication

Improve skills, confidence, and commitment in all athletes

Communicate personal and program expectations to team and to individual players
Experience Requirements:

Prior playing and coaching experience

An understanding of the rules and regulations of the game

Knowledge of effective skills and strategies that contribute to team growth and success

CPR and First Aid Certification (may complete upon hiring)
Preferred Education/Certification:

Bachelor’s Degree

Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a large van
