  • Celina (Heeter) Schneider '95

    Celina graduated from Marquette University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in International Business and Marketing. She has worked in marketing and communications for a variety of organizations, including Account Executive at CKPR. She is currently the Director of Admissions at St. John the Beloved Academy in McLean, VA. Celina has five children and has been married 17 years. Her oldest daughter is in the Oakcrest Class of 2027.  Reflecting on Oakcrest, she says, "It is a unique place, that truly nurtures a girl, helping her to develop into a well-rounded, thoughtful person. Someone who strives to reach her potential in the vocation she has chosen, whether that be doctor, scientist, CEO or mother, while being compassionate and generous in her pursuit of excellence. The longest and truest friendships I have made have been at Oakcrest. There I was able to grow as a whole person alongside people who had similar values and goals; together we grew in character and skill as we pursued new and different interests and talents."
  • Eileen (Schnabel) Byler ’88

    Eileen graduated from Messiah College in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a minor in Secondary School Education. She was a 4-year letterman for their Division III soccer team and served as their captain in her senior year. Upon graduation, Eileen returned to Oakcrest and taught 8th and 9th grade history for one year. After teaching for a few years, she became interested in the role of technology in the classroom and worked for School Technology Programs as a consultant. Currently, she has a small business called Computer Adventures that developed a technology curriculum for PreK/Kindergarten that is being taught in several schools. Eileen and her husband, Chad, have two children, ages 24 and 20, and live in Virginia Beach. As a new empty nester, she enjoys golf, reading, traveling, walks on the beach, and not cooking as much.
  • Judy Gallagher '00

    Judy graduated from St. Mary’s College of Maryland in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Public Policy. She then attended Ave Maria School of Law when it was located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Following graduation, Judy clerked on the Third Circuit Court of Appeals and spent seven years practicing law at Sidley Austin LLP in Washington, D.C. Judy left Sidley about a year after her first child was born. Since 2016, Judy has been a volunteer attorney with the DC Volunteer Lawyers Project, where she represents at-risk children and domestic violence survivors. Judy lives with her husband Chris and two children in Washington, D.C.
  • Laura Cermak '15

    Laura graduated valedictorian from Christendom College, where she studied politics, philosophy, and classics. She lives in the Research Triangle area in North Carolina and does work in marketing, consulting, and Latin tutoring. In her spare time, Laura enjoys singing polyphony, practicing what she learned in bartending school, and reading philosophy and theology with friends. In 2019, she partnered with fashion designer and entrepreneur MollyKate Cline to found True Style, a faith-based fashion model and design program for teenage girls.
  • Theresa (Currano) Talavera '93

    Theresa was the second of five Currano girls to graduate from Oakcrest. She graduated from University of Maryland at College Park in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts in Romance Languages and taught both Spanish and French for two years at Oakcrest before her first child was born in the summer of 1999. She and her husband, Alex, live in Alexandria with their ten children ranging in age from 2 to 22. Their oldest daughter, Eliana, graduated from Oakcrest in 2017, and her sister Maite just graduated in 2021. Theresa has been running a Mothers' Group at her home parish of St. Louis for the past twenty years and just recently began homeschooling four of her younger children. She has enjoyed staying connected to Oakcrest over the years, between teaching, stints as a substitute and a mentor, and volunteering on the Oakcrest Gala Committee since 2012. She loves having had the chance to watch Oakcrest grow over the years from the Yuma campus with its pink walls and the famous "Deck," to Balls Hill Road with its onsite theater, to our beautiful permanent campus that was built just for our girls. 
  • Maritere (Gramatges) Crum '91

    Maritere graduated from George Mason University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts in English Writing.  She and her husband, Richard, have 8 children ranging in ages from 25 to 7 and 2 grandbabies born this year. She currently homeschools her two youngest girls and her younger boys attend The Heights. Over the last 25 years, they have lived in Virginia, Connecticut and Florida, and returned home 2 years ago, moving around the corner from Oakcrest. Maritere has always been very active in all of her children’s schools, serving as Room Mom, Fundraising Committee Chair, member of the Parent Advisory Board, and as Admissions Coordinator for their children’s school in Florida. She is currently the Alumnae Relations Coordinator for Oakcrest. She is very passionate about the pro-life movement and has served on the Board of the Paul Stefan Home in Orange, VA and as a volunteer at A Woman’s Choice in Herndon, VA. Maritere loves being creative, baking, reading, writing and planning events.
  • Meg Gargulinksi '11

    Meg graduated from Oakcrest and went on to Franciscan University of Steubenville. While at Oakcrest, Meg was heavily involved in the Spirit Committee, serving as Green Team Spirit Captain and Charlie the Charger. Upon arriving at Franciscan, Meg walked on to their Division III lacrosse team, was a 4-year letterman, and served 3 years as the team captain. After graduation in 2015 with a degree in Economics and a minor in Accounting & Spanish, Meg started working at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management as a Financial Planning Associate, and now is a Financial Advisor. Meg still plays and coaches lacrosse. She also enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Some of her new favorite activities include fishing and snowboarding.
  • Katie McNeish '16

    Katie graduated from UCLA in June of 2020 with a bachelor’s in Design Media Arts and a minor in Entrepreneurship. Now, Katie is entering her first year at UVA Law and is excited for the new adventures Charlottesville has to offer. Katie is passionate about the Oakcrest community and was involved in almost every piece of Oakie life during her four years there. She was the White Team spirit captain, (re)started the newspaper, was in every Upper School show, and was a member of the swim team and the sailing team. She continues her involvement with Oakcrest as a member of the Oakcrest Alumnae Committee and as a class captain. Although she graduated just before Oakcrest moved to its permanent home, she thinks of the new building as her own, and looks forward to making new memories there as an alumna. 
  • Kathleen Ouyang '09

    Kathleen teaches History and Government at Oakcrest. She attended Roanoke College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in History with a concentration in East Asian Studies. She is particularly interested in Chinese history, studying abroad in China with grants from the ASIANetwork Freeman Foundation and the U.S. Fulbright Program. She is an avid volleyball player, artist, reader, and perpetual student of Mandarin. She enjoys connecting with her students in the classroom.
  • Maria (Kilner) Sousa '99

    Maria served as Oakcrest Student Council President '98-99. Maria is the second oldest of nine children, including Brigid Kilner, Madie Kilner, and Antoinette (Kilner) Greengard, all Oakcrest alumna. Maria graduated from the Catholic University of America in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Media Studies. She has worked on the technology and communications teams for over 16 years at The Heritage Foundation. She is currently the Digital Director at Heritage. Her team is responsible for all of Heritage's web and digital properties.  Maria and her husband, Jose, have four children, ages 14, 11, 9 and 7 and they live in Washington, DC in the neighborhood of their alma mater, CUA. They enjoy raising their family in the city and take advantage of all of the parks and museums it has to offer.
