First alumna elected as President of the Board of Directors

Mrs. Bueno holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, a Bachelor of Arts in Physics from Smith College, and a Bachelor of Engineering Sciences from Dartmouth College. Her career has led her to work with several government contractors in the Washington, D.C., area and she currently works as an engineer. Mrs. Bueno recently completed a Master’s degree in Theological Studies at the Notre Dame Graduate School of Christendom College.

Since its founding in 1976, Oakcrest School has benefited from strong leadership. The Board of Directors serve as the governing body of the school. The Head of School, Dr. Mary T. Ortiz, is a voting member of the Board of Directors. The Board of Trustees, part of the school’s governance structure, approves nominations to that board. Its members include many of the school’s most ardent and loyal supporters and ambassadors.

“I would like to express my gratitude to Dr. Mary T. Ortiz for her leadership; I look forward to working with her in the months ahead, serving my beloved alma mater,” Mrs. Bueno shared in a recent message to the Oakcrest community.
