Students Excel in National Latin Exam

The NLE is a wonderful opportunity for students living in over forty countries to receive reinforcement and recognition for their accomplishments in Latin. Depending upon their score, students may earn certificates, medals, and may even qualify for scholarships from the National Junior Classical League. This year, ninety-two Oakcrest students across the Latin program tackled the challenge of this 40-question, 45-minute exam with impressive results: Over 65% of students earned a score at or above the international average for their exam. As a result, 51 students received official recognition for high performance, including 6 Cum Laude awards, 19 Magna Cum Laude awards, 17 Maxima Cum Laude award silver medals, and 8 Summa Cum Laude gold medals. Their instructors will present these awards in class.
