Spreading Joy and Looking to the Future with Hope: Oakcrest Celebrates the Class of 2020

In the midst of the challenging circumstances, Oakcrest School is celebrating the members of its senior class, who have been admitted into universities around the country, including the University of Pennsylvania, Georgetown University, the University of Virginia, The College of William & Mary, and Boston College.

Members of the Oakcrest School Class of 2020 will pursue areas of study that include linguistics, nursing, classics, marketing, engineering, computer science, and pre-dentistry.

“It has been a pleasure working with the Class of 2020 this year,” says College Counseling Director Mary Ann Thompson. “Some of our seniors have known their dream college since last year, and others have devoted a tremendous amount of time discerning their best college fit and discovered new interests and aha moments along the way. We look forward to hearing from this resilient class as they enter the next chapter of their lives.”

The Oakcrest junior class recently surprised each senior with a lawn sign celebrating their upcoming graduation from Oakcrest.  “We wanted our senior class to feel the love as they are missing so many key moments this semester.  In order to spread the joy, we wanted to give each senior a yard sign to let them know we're thinking of them,” says Oakcrest parent Tristan Bourdelais.

Because graduation is such a special event at Oakcrest, the school hopes to gather at the end of June for its Baccalaureate Mass and Graduation Ceremony if it is safe and permissible to do so.
