Sarah Robertson

Assistant Athletic Director, Head Softball Coach
Sarah Robertson joined the Oakcrest community this year as Assistant Athletic Director and also as Head Softball Coach. She has jumped right into the life of the school, making valuable contributions to the athletics program.

Sports have been an important part of Ms. Robertson’s life since childhood. In elementary school, inspired by her sister, she started playing volleyball and continued through high school, competing on a club team. She earned many awards along the way, including being named FACA Volleyball Player of the Year for the State of Florida three years in a row in the district 5A; making All-County first team all four years; and being named to the FACA All-Star Volleyball Team in 2015.

Her interests expanded beyond volleyball, as she was also an avid softball player. During her junior year of high school, she committed to playing for Liberty University’s Division I Softball team. While there, she earned All-Region, All-State, and All-Conference awards as well as being Top 10 in 11 different Program Records. Ms. Robertson is the only player in program history to have 40+ doubles and stolen bases, and she helped build Liberty's teams' RPI from 260th to 25th in the country. In the meantime, she also earned both a Bachelor of Science in sport management and a Master’s degree in public administration from the university, graduating in 2019.

When Ms. Robertson heard about the position in the Oakcrest Athletics Department, she quickly realized that it would be a great fit. “Playing competitive sports most of my life has had a profoundly positive impact in my life, and I want to be able to share that with others,” she says. “I knew this position would enable me to do so, by sharing my passion, experience, and skills in coaching and mentoring. Seeing the Oakcrest mission and vision, I knew it could be a place where I could not only make an impact, but also grow and learn professionally, spiritually, and personally.”

Ms. Robertson coached the JV volleyball team this fall and is currently coaching the Middle School Green basketball team. She will serve as Head Softball Coach in the spring. She hopes to add either a Middle School or JV team to the softball roster in the near future, and is excited to share her passion for the sport with more Oakies.

“What I like most about Oakcrest is how genuine the students are,” she says. “Coaching them and getting to know them is a very special part of this job. They are interested and eager to learn what I am teaching, and I know they will gain valuable and important life lessons. I love being able to help build their character, intellect, and faith, so it's exciting to see them growing and learning each day.”
