Oakcrest announces National Merit Semifinalist and Commended Scholars

Oakcrest School is pleased to announce the recognition of four students in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Oakcrest School is pleased to announce that senior Zosia C. '25 has been named a semifinalist in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program. Zosia is one of 16,000 semifinalists, representing less than 1 percent of the 1.3 million high school juniors who entered the 2025 competition by taking the 2023 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

In addition, three Oakcrest seniors have been named commended students - Ashleigh Y. '25, Maude P. '25, and Clare H. '25. A letter of commendation is presented to students who place among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2025 competition by taking the 2023 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. They are among 34,000 Commended Students nationwide who have shown exceptional academic promise.

These seniors will graduate alongside 51 classmates as the Class of 2025 this coming June. Throughout their time at Oakcrest, these students have actively participated in the life of the school and community through leadership, volunteer work, participation in theater productions, on sports teams, and in clubs.

“Celebrating our students' accomplishments is one of the most rewarding aspects of being an educator,” Head of School Christie Keuchel said. “It is an honor to see how Oakcrest equips our students with the tools they need to thrive beyond the classroom. We look forward to seeing the many opportunities that await our students as they continue to succeed.”

Oakcrest School provides a rich liberal arts education to its students, woven together with one-on-one mentoring, character development, and a commitment to service. An Oakcrest education creates a vibrant environment that graduates confident women who make a difference in all they choose to do.

“The education Oakcrest offers is truly person centered,” Associate Head of School Cynthia Bertolini said. “Our Liberal Arts curriculum, in all of its breadth and in all of its depth, prepares our students to continue their pursuit of excellence in college and beyond.”
