Student Council
Student Council representativesfrom every grade assume responsibility for the well being of the school community. As an elected representative body, they are responsible for coordinating and running various events within the school. Student Council Officers work with their faculty moderators and the school faculty and Administration to promote school spirit and maintain traditions within the school. Some of the Student Council-sponsored traditions include Spirit Week, birthday celebrations, and coordinating holiday activities for the student body.
The Student Council is composed of 2 members from each class. The 6th grade students take turns each month representing their class so that they have a chance to experience student government before running for an elected office. The Executive Council is composed of the Student Council president, the vice-president/treasurer and the secretary. All three executive officers are from the sophomore, junior, or senior class. Each class has two officers— a president/secretary and vice-president/treasurer. The Student Council president is a senior and she serves as president of her class as well. Elections for Student Council officers are held in the spring.
Student Council members strive to be positive members of the student body through their school spirit, support for school policies, and personal spirit of service.
