Fine Arts
Oakcrest values the fine arts as an integral part of a student’s education, and an essential means of fostering academic excellence, character development, and cultural awareness.
The fine arts program provides students numerous opportunities for individual creativity and expression through a range of required and elective courses in studio art, music and drama. The curricula provide a strong background in the materials, techniques and discipline necessary for advanced study in these fields while imparting an understanding of the importance of the arts in society. Fine arts courses emphasize creative thinking, experimentation, and development of a sensitive appreciation and respect for the ideas and efforts of others. Regular performances and shows give students the opportunity to share their developing talents with each other and with the greater community as well.
