The Advisory program is at the center of the Oakcrest experience, and works to support the Academic, Athletic, Fine Art, Student Life and Character Education programs that are offered. The personal relationship that each student has with her advisor is essential and dynamic. The ultimate goal is to help each girl take an active role in her own development. Advisors help to raise the student’s awareness of and sensitivity to the voice of conscience within her, thereby empowering her to make sound choices. The advisor serves as a mentor, helping the student develop her intellect, character and faith.

Keeping in mind that parents are respected as the primary educators of their daughters, advisors cooperate with parents by contributing their own insights and understanding of the student with the common goal of helping her become the person she is meant to be. Students meet monthly with their advisors one-on-one, and students are free to seek out their advisors for encouragement in academics, friendships and service. In addition to a scheduled parent/advisor conference each semester, parents are expected to communicate regularly with advisors.
