Welcome to Oakcrest Athletics!

Driven by our school's mission, Oakcrest students are challenged to do their very best with a joyful, sporting spirit, seeking virtue in all they do.

By taking a personal interest in each student-athlete, our coaches inspire our girls to give their very best to their teammates at every practice and game.

Our athletes stand out as much for their positivity and sportsmanship as for their excellent abilities. Our coaches stand out for their respect and kindness even as they demand the most out of each girl.

Because our athletics program is designed for young women, our coaches are dedicated to excellence in female athletics. In every sport and fitness program, we build up the confidence of our student athletes through strength and skills training, nutrition and hydration guidance, and promoting a healthy body image.

With a unique perspective on the needs of female athletes, we have a particular interest in safety. We encourage our athletes to participate in more than one sport to take advantage of cross training. All our coaches receive concussion training through the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS). In addition, our athletic trainer works with students on injury prevention and safe return to play after an injury.
Athletics is an essential part of the Oakcrest experience. Over 85% of our students participate on a sports team or in a fitness class offered by the athletic department.  We offer several levels of each sport- Basketball, Cross Country, Golf, Lacrosse, Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Tennis, Track & Field and Volleyball - which allows athletes of all abilities - from the beginner to the elite athlete - to compete in our program.

Oakcrest is a member of the Virginia Christian Athletic Conference (VCAC).

Oakcrest is an active member of the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association (VISAA), which provides all our varsity teams with the opportunity to compete at the state championship level.  Oakcrest athletes have qualified for State championship events and received all-state recognition.

Oakcrest has a long history of successful competitive play in the Washington, D.C. area, having won over 50 PVAC banners. In 2010, 2011 and 2016 and 2017, Oakcrest was recognized with the PVAC Director’s Cup having scored the most points across all varsity athletic programs in the league.

Our teams and athletes have competed successfully at the state level, and we have proudly sent many Chargers to compete at the collegiate level.
