We invite students who are applying to 7th grade and higher to spend a day with an Oakcrest Student. Please call the Admission Office at (703) 790-5450 or contact by email admissions@oakcrest.org to arrange a mutually convenient date.

Applicants to 6th grade are invited to have a Taste of Oakcrest experience.

It is important for the Admission staff to meet prospective parents in order to discuss the educational goals and interests of their daughter. This meeting can be arranged by calling the office at 703.790.5450 or contacting the Admission Office by email.

The Application

Apply on-line now or download and complete the Family Application Form and the Candidate Application Form and send to the school with the non-refundable application fee of $50. The recommendation forms and transcript request form should be taken to the student’s teachers for completion. In order to make an admission decision by late February it is important that the application be completed by February 5, 2008.

Visiting Oakcrest School

Visits by both students and parents are an important part of the admission process.

Students applying to grade 7 or higher should schedule a day to shadow a student. A shadow day may be scheduled by contacting the Admission Office by calling (703) 790-5450 or send an email to admissions@oakcrest.org.

Students applying to Grade 6 are invited to attend a “Taste of Oakcrest” event. Applicants will visit the school in small groups, joining a group of current 6th graders at 11:30 a.m. for a pizza lunch, and then attending three sixth grade classes. The event concludes a 3:00 p.m. Please call the Admission Office at (703)790-5450 or email admissions@oakcrest.org to schedule a “Taste of Oakcrest”.

Parent Visit

Prospective parents are invited to visit in order to discuss the educational goals and interests of the applicant. Appointments with the Admission Office may be scheduled during school days by contacting the office by telephone (703) 790-5450 or by email admissions@oakcrest.org.

Testing

Applicants to Oakcrest School are asked to take an admission test. Oakcrest School accepts results from:

The Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT). Please log on to www.ssat.org for dates and locations. Oakcrest School number is 5460.

The Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE). Please log on to www.iseetest.org for dates and locations. Oakcrest School number is 472638.

Students applying to the 9th grade may substitute the High School Placement Test (HSPT) given at parochial school in the Diocese of Arlington and the Archdiocese of Washington. Contact your local diocesan school for test dates and times. It is the parents’ responsibility to see that the HSPT results are sent to Oakcrest School.
