Letter from the Head of School

Dear Friends,

Welcome to Oakcrest School.  I am very pleased to welcome you to our website and our campus so that you can see first hand what a special place Oakcrest is.

Oakcrest provides an environment where girls make a difference – at school, at home and in the world at large."

Oakcrest is a place where girls make a difference.  It is a place not simply made of bricks and mortar, but a place where relationships are made, strengthened, and built upon.  Students at Oakcrest, in grades 6-12, are at an exciting developmental point in their lives.  The partnership between parents and the faculty and administration of the school help each student develop her intellect, character, faith and leadership potential.  The relationships built are among students, faculty and parents in pursuit of intellectual curiosity and personal integrity, all of which are supported by truly living the mission of the school.

Oakcrest itself is at a very exciting place in its history.  Having celebrated our first thirty years, we are embarking on our next phase of growth and development as we take the mission of the school forward for our next generation of students.

The education at Oakcrest is academically challenging and balanced – it grows out of a rich liberal arts tradition that promotes across-the-board learning.  Each girl gains the confidence she needs to do her best every day.  In an environment reinforced by Christian values and the teachings of the Catholic Church, each student is inspired to reach for excellence in all she does.

I encourage you to visit Oakcrest School – Where girls make a difference.

Sincerely,

Ellen M. Cavanagh
Head of School
